What I'm reading
Currently, I'm deeply engrossed in Walter Isaacson's biography of Albert Einstein. I'm at the period between 1933 and 1936, when Hitler came to power and unleashed a fierce anti-Semitic campaign, forcing Einstein to abandon his native Germany.
Today, we are reliving, on a smaller scale, that phenomenon of irrational hatred towards a race whose only «sin,» as far as I can tell, has been solidarity with their community.
Despite his involvement in the creation of the atomic bomb, Einstein was always a pacifist at heart. During his only visit to Israel in 1923, he stated that it was essential for Jews and Arabs to learn to live side by side, as otherwise, there would never be peace.
Prophetic words.
Collecting Beautiful People
This week, I'm including Eduardo Silva Pylyciow in my collection of beautiful people. With 40 years at Grupo Bal, he currently serves as General Director of GNP Seguros.
My recognition and gratitude towards Eduardo are due to his tireless work in favor of education. As a counselor for the Alberto Baillères Foundation, he is contributing to transforming the lives of thousands of young people. His vision and passion for creating an environment that fosters collaboration among students, teachers, parents, and the community is a jewel for strengthening the social fabric.
Behind the scenes, in some of the most complicated social environments, educational programs are being created that empower young people, providing them with tools to grow and thrive.
People like Eduardo make our nation great. They are true social architects paving the way for a bright future for Mexico.
Thank you, Eduardo, for being who you are.
My daily struggle
Two months ago, I expanded my daily meditation practice. I used to meditate for 20 minutes a day, and now I'm dedicating at least 30 minutes, with some days extending to an hour or more.
The reason? I'm taking a «black belt» training in positive intelligence, and one of the fundamental practices is meditating for 30 minutes daily.
The premise is that starting the day with 30 minutes of brain-control exercise develops our self-mastery muscle, enabling us to face life with greater wisdom.
I'm really enjoying this new practice. It's fascinating how just ten more minutes of mindfulness in the morning greatly enrich the enjoyment of meditation and energize the reason for being.
Highly recommended.
Well, with this my report for the week concludes, reminding you that you are great and that life demands your greatness.
Have a great day.
