What I'm reading

I am reading «That Little Voice In Your Head» by Mo Gaudet. Mo, like so many sisters and brothers of light, found her life's meaning and purpose after heartbreaking pain. In her case, it was the death of her 20-year-old son Ali, who passed away during a simple routine medical procedure that went wrong. An avoidable death, caused by human error.

Mo left his position as Google's Director of «Moon Shot» projects to launch his own «Moon Shot”: trying to make a billion people happy. He said, “I know it sounds crazy, but I believe it's the only goal worth dedicating my life to.”.

And I agree with him 1000%. There is so much pointless suffering in the world that if we can alleviate it, it will help steer the human race back toward a transcendent purpose.

The book is a gem, full of wisdom and practical exercises to reprogram the little voice in your head. I recommend it.

Collecting Beautiful People

A few days ago, I met Felipe González and Gonzáles, Professor and Dean of the Political and Social Environment area at IPADE, at an event.

I know Felipe and I don't know Felipe. Every year at his conferences during his tenure at IPADE, I enjoy and learn from him. And year after year, seeing and hearing him, I always feel the same way. Felipe has grown. He has a very special light. He radiates peace, wisdom, and joy.

And at the event, we had the opportunity to socialize. During our conversation, he turned to one of his friends in the circle and said, “Mac is one of my yellows.» Then he turned to me and asked, “Have you heard of Alberto Espinosa and his book The Yellow World?” I replied that I hadn't. He then said, ‘In his book, Alberto talks about a new tier of friendship, which he calls ’the yellows.« He says they are those people who aren't lovers or friends, but rather people who cross your path and with whom a single conversation can change your life. You are one of my yellows. Allow me to give you the book.».

The book arrived yesterday. I'm already halfway through. Without a doubt, Felipe is one of my favorites too, ha ha ha ha ha.

The daily struggle

In a way, this blog is part of my daily struggle. Sitting down to write about myself and share it with you doesn't come naturally. Deep down, I'm a shy person. I've always been and a part of me always will be. But that's what it's about. Stepping out of my comfort zone.

And that's why I'm grateful to you. The commitment to think, debug, and share a bit of my intimacy with you every two weeks makes me grow.
