Today I want to share with you some of the most powerful tools I know for opening your mind and heart and teach you how to summon the muses of creativity!!!<\/p>\n
So, let's put pen to paper, finger to keyboard, stylus to screen, or simply connect to universal intelligence by allowing yourself to be a channel.<\/p>\n
What it's all about is connecting with a new dimension of wisdom that resides beyond reason. One in which you allow your talent, intuition, and wisdom to flow. And why not, let out the demons that need to get out.<\/p>\n
Let me share some of the tools I have in my medicine cabinet with you.<\/p>\n
When we study great people who have left their mark, we see that many had the habit of keeping a journal. This discipline of regularly noting down what they see, feel, and intuit is a vital part of developing their talent. Examples abound. Two that come to mind are Leonardo da Vinci and Marie Curie.<\/p>\n
I invite you to see Leonardo's notebooks, which are a window into the soul of one of the most creative, intelligent, and curious human beings to have ever walked the earth.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, using writing as therapy is a very powerful methodology. It orders the mind, inspires, and allows us to give an outlet and cause to our ghosts and demons. It also allows us to define our identity and establish a personal, professional, and social agenda.<\/p>\n
And speaking of defining our identity, a powerful writing exercise to better understand who we are and what drives us is called \u00abThe Perfect Novel of My Life.\u00bb It consists of dividing your life into five time blocks. For example, if you are 50 years old, then each block would be 10 years. If you are 30, then each block would be 6 years. And with this framework, write down what happened in each chapter of your life; your successes, your challenges, and your learnings. How you embraced your greatness and moved forward.<\/p>\n
The purpose of the exercise is to help you see how each stage of your life, however diverse, fun, or painful it may be, fits together and how, as a whole, they complement each other and constitute the extraordinary person you are.<\/p>\n
Other types of writing that move the mind, soul, and heart are letters. Two of my favorites are gratitude letters and forgiveness letters. Each possesses a special magic. A gratitude letter, when written to a person who has left a mark on your life, creates and strengthens bonds of love. On the other hand, a forgiveness letter removes the pain that causes us to die while living. I invite you to choose one subject of pleasure and one of pain in your life and write each one their corresponding letter.<\/p>\n
Continuing our journey of methodologies that unleash creativity, another great tool is allowing yourself to be a channel and letting yourself flow. Mozart comes to mind here, and how his marvelous musical scores seemed to dictate themselves, without error. Or Helen Schuman's book \u00abA Course in Miracles,\u00bb which she claims is not her own work, but rather dictated to her by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ himself, resulting in a 1333-page guide that teaches us how to reconnect with universal intelligence.<\/p>\n
Lastly, let me share one last perspective. The other day I read a book about energy medicine and its supposed connection to quantum science. I was fascinated! It said that directed thought connects with universal intelligence and comes to life. And that every human being who contributes through their conscious and directed action, strengthens this living backdrop of this collective work.<\/p>\n
Without a doubt, if this is true, it's another form of creativity, explicitly connecting and building in this other dimension. The author, Richard Bartlett, who is a well-known healer, argues that if one opens their mind and heart, it's possible to co-create with universal intelligence and influence matter through consciousness. Without a doubt, a radical proposal that turns many of our established concepts about what constitutes \u201creality\u201d on their head.<\/p>\n
So in conclusion, my reflection, I invite you to open your mind and heart and let inspiration, order, and wisdom flow. To allow the muses of creativity to invade you and connect you to something larger than yourself.
