What I'm reading<\/u><\/p>\n
This week I dedicated it to reading the latest book by one of my marketing mentors, Philip Kotler, whom I had the pleasure of meeting personally and who is considered the father of marketing.<\/p>\n
His first book, \u00abMarketing Management,\u00bb has been the go-to textbook for marketing schools since 1967.<\/p>\n
Now, at 90 years old, he publishes \u201cMarketing 5.0, Technology for Humanity,\u201d in which he guides us on how to combine disruptive technological progress with the need to safeguard our human essence. Brilliant.<\/p>\n

This time, the thanks go to my friend Mauricio Reynoso, director of AMEDIRH.<\/p>\n
This week, your International Human Resources Congress was held in CDMX. It brought together over 2,000 participants to attend conferences and interact with a relevant mix of service providers.<\/p>\n
I loved the push towards education and equity. Frankly, the booth that caught my attention the most was one called \u00abSmart Unionism,\u201d staffed by union leaders representing workers from companies like Bimbo, Pepsico, Monte Xanic, and Comex.<\/p>\n
There's no doubt that these types of well-curated spaces offer the opportunity for us to get to know each other, build trust, and establish the foundations for true collaboration for the benefit of Mexico.<\/p>\n

My daily struggle<\/u><\/p>\n
I am going through one of the most traumatic times of my life. Our beloved daughter suffers from something called PTSD, or post-traumatic stress, which was caused by the death of her older brother, and which to this day she has not been able to process adequately.<\/p>\n
It's a terrible condition. To give you some context, it's the condition some soldiers suffer from when they return from war. They live in a constant state of fear and\/or rage, which in many cases leads them to take their own lives.<\/p>\n
When our son died, I didn't seek psychological help for myself and my family. It wasn't until last year that I took her to the United States to have her brain scanned to see its condition.<\/p>\n
The study conducted at Amen's clinic in Miami revealed that our daughter is suffering from a severe case of PTSD. Thanks to this, she now has a psychiatrist and a psychologist from that institution. They care about her and are helping her. However, a PTSD specialist is needed to guide her through an intense process that allows for pain processing, but our daughter has been reluctant to start treatment.<\/p>\n
Truly, seeing our daughter suffer such violent self-punishing attacks, and feeling so powerless to help is traumatic.<\/p>\n
So, without consulting her, I started looking for someone who could support her in Mexico. And in the process, I realized my own condition. I too, at that moment, was affected. I too was being consumed at that moment by a traumatic pain that I didn't know how to process.<\/p>\n
And in a moment of lucidity, I decided to undergo the EMDR therapy program here in Mexico that I had been looking for for her. I've already had my first session.<\/p>\n
I hope this process has two sides. On the one hand, it helps me face this painful moment with wisdom, and through that, be able to help our beloved daughter Natasha from a position of true understanding, compassion, and empathy.<\/p>\n
